To reduce our environmental impact, all drinks will be served in compostable, plant-based cups. Please do your best to use the bins provided at each station — littering on the course will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification.

Runners are also welcome to bring their own bottle or reusable cup, which can be refilled at any of the aid stations. Together, we can keep the course clean and protect the stunning Moana coastline.

The RunMoana course will be progressively closed to ensure the safety of all participants.

A dedicated sweeper runner will follow the final participant around the course, ensuring no one is left behind and allowing marshals to be stood down as sections close. If you are unable to maintain the minimum pace, you may be asked to stop and return directly to the finish area. While this is never something we want to do, it is necessary for the safety and smooth running of the event.

To avoid disappointment, please only enter if you are confident you can complete:

  • Half Marathon in under 3 hours

  • 10km in under 2 hours

  • 5km in under 1 hour

RunMoana is held on a fully closed roads, with dedicated course marshals positioned to guide you safely along the route. At different sections, you’ll be directed to KEEP LEFT, to ensure your safety and to keep the course clear for fellow runners and any necessary vehicle access.

We kindly ask that you show respect and courtesy to our marshals and volunteers. They generously give up their Sunday morning to support you and help create an unforgettable race experience — so give them a smile and a thank you as you pass by!
