MOANA TRIATHLON

The iconic Moana Triathlon is staged in the clear waters off Moana beach, the challenging but fast bike leg kicks out along the smooth and undulating esplanade and you’ll finish off with a challenging run course.

Offering 3 distances –mini, enticer and sprint distances, this event caters for all levels. If you can’t complete the sprint distance by yourself, why not put together a team!

The 2024 edition of the Moana Triathlon will host a World Qualification Event for the Wollongong 2025 World Championships for the Sprint Distance, not only will it e a WQE it will also return as the SA State Sprint Championship RACE!!!!

750m swim / 20km cycle / 5km run

Enticer Race

375m swim / 10km cycle / 2.5km run

MINI Race

100m swim/ 5km cycle / 1km run

GENERAL INFORMATION

TRAVEL AND PARKING

Please ensure you plan your travel and arrival to allow sufficient time to park and prepare for your race. PLAN before you arrive – There is plenty of off street parking in the area, in the carpark near the beach or on the road near the caravan park.

TOILETS

There is a toilet block located on the esplanade towards the beach, about 50m from transition. 

FIRST AID / MEDICAL

First Aid will be located in the athlete compound and roving on the course. If you require first aid assistance on the course, please notify a marshal who will be able to radio for assistance.

 FOOD

We have our coffee, smoothie, and rustic donut van on site.  Please utilise them for a coffee or a sneaky donut pre and post race.  There are a couple cafés and restaurants across the road from the venue to grab a coffee, snacks or a sit-down meal.

WATER SAFETY 

Thank to the dedicated team and volunteers from Moana Life Saving Club. Should you require water safety assistance during your swim or board event, place your hand in the air to draw the attention of one of the life savers. A full water safety briefing will be provided at the start of each event.

 AID STATIONS

Water will be provided on the run course, transition, and at the finish line area will be more options for recovery.

 RACE FINISH / RECOVERY AREA

Hydration and fruit will be provided at the finishing line. It is encouraged for competitors to relax in the recovery area to refuel and rehydrate. Should you feel you require medical attention, please make yourself known to the medical team at the finishing line.

 BAG COMPOUND / BAG DROP

A bag compound will be available to all competitors located near registration. Competitors must clearly mark their own bag with their race number.  There are no bag stickers provided. Please DO NOT leave any valuables in the bag compound. It is the competitor’s responsibility to collect their bag at the conclusion of the event
